They’re making this Ant-Man movie like an Avengers-level threat movie, and I’m all about it.

I was just watching the Georgia game (go Dawgs) when the second trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania landed. If you watch my shorts, or you’re on any of the shorter reels platforms, you’ve already seen my raw reaction. I was focusing on my reaction in that one. This time I actually watched the thing.

Bro. It looks so good.

Scott Lang Is Our Way In to Kang

Scott Lang’s definitely one of those characters that I don’t know that I’ve ever really been overly impressed by. I mean, I love Paul Rudd, and I love the character of Ant-Man. I love the concept of it, seeing him turn giant and the whole nine yards. And I thought he was great in Endgame when he finally comes out of it, thanks to that rat.

But the whole journey he’s been on to this point, and for him to be the entrance for us to see Kang? “You’re an interesting man, Scott Lang.” That’s who gets the meeting. The man tells him he can give him the one thing he wants, and the one thing is time.

And that whole line about seeing the beginning of a dynasty. They’re talking about the Kang Dynasty, which we know is going to be a movie down the road.

The Blue Skin Is the Light From His Mask

I do love the fact that Kang is represented as having blue skin, and I love that when you see him, it’s the light from his mask doing it. That is an awesome, awesome take on that. Very cool.

Not the Ant-Man Movie We’ve Gotten

I’m super anticipating this. It’s like the end of a trilogy, and I don’t think it’s going to be the kind of Ant-Man movie we’ve gotten. Listen to what the man in that trailer is saying. “I can rewrite existence and shatter timelines.” “You will bring me what I need, or everything you call life will end.” And then the one that got me: “I don’t have to win. We both just have to lose.”

That’s an Avengers-level threat, sitting in an Ant-Man movie.

The Verdict

The second trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a solid 8 out of 10 on the Know-It-All Index.

Let’s go, baby. I’m down, man. I’m excited. Matter of fact, I’m going to go watch it again.

Never forget, everyone loves a know-it-all.

I’d love to hear what you thought of this one. Is this the end of a trilogy, or the start of something a whole lot bigger than Ant-Man? The conversation lives in the comments on the video above.
