The BoardsDeveloping

We don't grade the casting.
We read the evidence.

News is a race to be first, and being first is worth about six hours. What the Nation does is harder and lasts longer: we work out what a thing MEANS. A casting announcement is not a scorecard, it is evidence. So we never ask whether a hire is good. We ask what that particular person makes possible, what they quietly rule out, and what story you can actually build out of the people who signed.

Then we pin it to a board, with a date on it, and we leave it there. When new information lands the picture sharpens or it breaks, and either way you get to watch it happen in public. When we are wrong we stamp it REFUTED and leave it up, because a board that only ever grows is a wall of guesses.
