Pull the right card and you get a rare. Pull the right card in KAYOU’s Chase the Magic campaign and you get to invent a Pony.

That’s what happened to David Abdelmaseih, the inaugural winner of KAYOU’s Chase the Magic campaign. His lucky card pull earned him the chance to create an original My Little Pony character, Bannanie Bloom, alongside My Little Pony comic illustrator Andy Price.

The reveal on stage

The collaboration came full circle at New York Comic Con. During KAYOU and Hasbro’s “Chase the Magic” panel, which walked fans through how My Little Pony characters become KAYOU collectibles, Price surprised Abdelmaseih with the finished, one-of-a-kind artwork of Bannanie Bloom.

The cards sold out before they hit stores

KAYOU says demand at its Javits booth ran ahead of supply:

  • My Little Pony Friendship Eternal, Moon Edition 4 sold out at the show. Nationwide retail release is October 16.
  • The KAYOU × BOOM! × My Little Pony NYCC Exclusive Cover Card, the first oversized KAYOU card ever offered for purchase, also sold out.
  • Nightmare Night My Little Pony Trading Card Game booster packs are available now.
  • Hearth’s Warming Eve booster packs arrive October 30.

Fans also got hands-on Trading Card Game sessions for every skill level, with a blind bag promo card featuring one of the Mane Six for participants, plus card pack battles against KAYOU’s community manager to see who could pull the rarest card.
