What’s up, my know-it-alls! Welcome to Seven Things to Know. Today we’re navigating the space lanes to explore the seven things you need to know about Ahsoka before the debut of Star Wars: Ahsoka on Disney+. So hold on to your lightsabers, because this one’s a wild ride.
Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan
First debuting as Anakin Skywalker’s Padawan in The Clone Wars, Ahsoka is a Togruta from Shili with a rebellious spirit. She’s seen more battles than a Tatooine Jawa has seen scrap metal. Ahsoka’s relationship with Anakin paved the way for deep Star Wars lore, and her complex character development has made her a beloved icon in the franchise.
Walking Away From the Jedi Order
Accused of something she didn’t do? Check. Leave the Jedi Order in a huff? Double check.
Ahsoka’s departure from the Jedi Order was like breaking up with a rock band to pursue a solo career. It allowed her to explore the Force in a way that even Yoda would scratch his green head at. Her journey from Jedi to wanderer adds layers of complexity to her character.
The Secret Sauce of the Rebellion
Ahsoka is like the secret sauce in your favorite dish. Working with the Ghost crew and revealing hidden truths, she’s the galactic spy that Bond would envy. Including Sabine and other rebel characters makes this whole part of her saga much richer than a Wookiee’s fur coat.
The White Lightsabers
Her white lightsabers aren’t just for show. Later, after leaving the Jedi Order, Ahsoka took red lightsabers from an Inquisitor and purified them. What does that mean? They symbolize her unique path, standing apart from the Sith and the Jedi. It’s like sporting custom kicks in a galaxy full of standard issue boots. Am I right?
Rosario Dawson Brings Her to Life
Rosario Dawson brought Ahsoka to life in The Mandalorian Season 2, and oh boy, did she nail it. Her live-action appearance was about as epic as an Ewok dance party, setting the stage for her own spin-off.
The Ending of The Clone Wars
The ending of The Clone Wars left us gasping like fish out of water on Naboo. Ahsoka’s survival, her connection to Anakin’s fall, and that mysterious owl thing. You know what I’m talking about. It’s storytelling gold that will hopefully be expanded upon in her series.
Thrawn, and the Universal Question
Helmed by Dave Filoni, Ahsoka’s creator, and others, the new series will have our hero rising against Grand Admiral Thrawn, a name that many of you remember. He’s the heir apparent to the Empire. With characters like Sabine, expect explosions, wisdom, and probably more questions. If there’s a bigger threat than Thrawn’s blue face and red eyes, we haven’t seen it.
With so much amazing storytelling to mine, I can’t wait to hopefully see whether we get an answer to the universal question: where’s Ezra?
So there you go. Now you know. And if knowing is half the battle, you’re halfway to being a know-it-all yourself.
Till next time, Know-It-All Nation, keep asking questions, and may your thirst for knowledge be as unending as the Star Wars universe itself. Never forget: everyone loves a know-it-all.
You got questions? Ask away. The conversation lives in the comments on the video above.
