Most celebrity signings run one direction: the fan brings the card, the star signs it, the line moves. Arden Cho broke that pattern at New York Comic Con.

Cho, the speaking voice of Rumi in Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, appeared at KAYOU’s booth during the trading card company’s first-anniversary celebration at the Javits Center, October 8 to 11. According to KAYOU, she signed collectible cards for fans and then got into the trading herself, swapping KPop Demon Hunters cards with fans to complete her own KAYOU collection.

A star who collects her own character

It’s a small moment, but it says something about where KPop Demon Hunters sits right now. The cast isn’t just promoting the merchandise. At least one of them is chasing the same pulls as the fans in line.

What KAYOU has coming for HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys

KAYOU used the convention to lay out its KPop Demon Hunters roadmap:

  • Collectible cards and card accessories, on shelves now
  • The next series of cards, arriving this fall
  • A new run of mini cards, slated for 2027

The rest of the signing table

Cho wasn’t the only name at the booth. tokidoki co-founder and artist Simone Legno signed tokidoki KAYOU cards featuring his characters, and My Little Pony comic illustrator Andy Price drew original, one-of-a-kind Pony sketches for fans.

One year in

KAYOU, which calls itself China’s No. 1 trading card company and the world’s No. 3, made its U.S. debut at NYCC a year ago with My Little Pony, NARUTO and tokidoki. Its lineup now also includes KPop Demon Hunters, Demon Slayer, Winx Club and Monster Jam.
